A few days ago, I was playing a game called “Revelation” with my family. It’s a bit like Trivial Pursuit but with Bible general knowledge questions instead. After the game, it was suggested to me that I might like to try and create something like that for the internet. It struck me as a good idea, as I think games can be a fun and interactive way of learning more about the Bible.
So, I decided to dip my toe in the water by creating Bible Flashcards. It tests you by showing you a verse from the Bible, and then you have to tell where it comes from. The verse shown to you can be from anywhere in the Bible, but to make it easier the questions are multiple choice. There are four rounds with ten questions each:
- You have to answer whether the verse comes from the Old or New Testament.
- You have to answer which section of the Bible the verse comes from (e.g. the Law, Epistles, Prophets, etc).
- You have to answer which specific book the verse comes from.
- You have to answer which word is missing from the verse.
I’ve found it’s challenging but also fun – it gets you into parts of the Bible we don’t read very much! Why not give it a try?
