Lockdown Mental Health Support – Psalm 23

Last night, I did a livestream on YouTube on Psalm 23. The subject was particularly about lockdown mental health support – I felt like I needed to turn to the Bible to help me! I’ve found this one of the hardest weeks of my life, I’m sure other people have felt that too.

If you’d like to watch it again or catch up, you can do so here:

I’m hoping to do another one next week. If you have any prayer requests or any particular issues you’d like me to look at, please comment below.

I did a video a couple of years ago about mental health from a Christian perspective – check it out here.

God is our safe space – Psalm 91 Sermon

A short sermon on Psalm 91, looking at how God is the one who keeps us safe from everything going on in the world. I chose this passage particularly because I think a lot of people are worried about what’s going on at the moment with the coronavirus, but it’s relevant all the time.

What does a good person look like? – Psalm 15

Psalm 14 tells us what a good person is. Psalm 15 tells us what a good person actually looks like in practice.

This is part of the weekly Thought for the Week series. This series is designed to give a short, 10-15 minute ‘thought’, including a Bible reading and a prayer. At the moment I am working my way through the Psalms but I may take a break from them after a while and look at another part of the Bible.

When trouble seems to go on forever – Psalm 13

Have you ever been in a situation where trouble seemed never-ending? This is exactly the situation David was in when he wrote this Psalm. This Psalm teaches us how to deal with these times.

When truth is political – Psalm 12

In 2016, the Oxford Dictionary chose “post-truth” as the word of the year. We are living in days when truth itself has become political. How should we respond?

Will good triumph over evil? Psalm 11

We human beings seem conditioned to believe that good will win out over evil. But how can we have grounds for this confidence?

How to deal with injustice: Psalm 10

In Psalm 9 we started thinking about injustice in general. This Psalm focuses down more on justice done by specific individuals. How should we respond?

Social Justice has gone mainstream in 2020 with the BLM movement. This Psalm is all about justice: what does God have to say about it?

You are not insignificant – Psalm 8

If you look up at the night sky, it can seem like we are tiny and insignificant. But that’s not how David sees it.
