The army that didn’t fight – Exodus 13:17-14:31 Sermon

“Did you hear the one about the army that didn’t fight?” It sounds like a joke, but it is actually a good description of this passage. In the first battle the Israelites faced together, God was teaching them something very important about what it meant to be the people of God. We as the church need to learn the same lessons.

However, this was not simply a historical event: this is perhaps the most significant event in the Old Testament for understanding what it means to be a Christian.
