People think that Christianity is nothing more than keeping a list of rules – i.e. the Ten Commandments. But that has been tried many times through history, and has failed every time. All you need is to look at the history of Israel.

Beware reverse pride – Romans 11:1-36 Sermon

Pride is one of the most insidious sins – it can affect us in lots of different ways. In this passage Paul warns us not to be complacent but to be humble in the face of God’s plans. He does this by warning the Gentile Christians not to feel superior to the Jews.

Is God unfair to choose some? – Romans 9:1-33 Sermon

If nothing can separate us from God’s love, then what about those who do not Christian? And does that mean God is unfair to choose some and not others? In this passage Paul laments over his own people, the Jews, but shows that God is acting according to his word and promises.

What is Christianity? – 3: Old Testament + Israel

Part three of a six-part series on the question “What is Christianity?” To answer the question we’ll look at a very brief overview of the whole Bible.

In this session we think about the rest of the Old Testament, in particular how God promised to undo the curse of the fall and yet how sin kept on getting in the way. At the end of the Old Testament we are left with a big question – how is God going to deal with the problem of sin?
